DENVER-
Democrat Mark Udall has hired a campaign manager and a finance director for his 2008 U.S. Senate campaign.
Udall, a congressman representing Colorado’s 2nd District, said Monday his campaign manager will be Mike Melanson, a former state Democratic Party executive director.
He said Jennifer Rokala, who managed his last two re-election campaigns, would be finance director.
Melanson has also worked for the Ikon Public Affairs consulting firm. In 2004 he helped with a campaign that won voter approval to raise Colorado cigarette taxes to fund health care and education programs.
Rokala was Udall’s deputy chief of staff from 1999 to 2002. She was finance director of the Democratic Governors’ Association in 1997-1999 and was deputy Western states finance director for the Clinton-Gore Re-Election campaign.
