The Colorado Rockies placed reliever LaTroy Hawkins on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to Saturday and activated reliever Tom Martin from the DL for Tuesday night’s game against the Mets in New York.
Hawkins, a right-hander, has inflammation in his right elbow. In 7.1 innings over nine games, he is 0-3 with an 8.59 ERA.
Martin, a left-hander, had been on the disabled list since March 29 with a strained left groin. In spring training, he gave up six home runs in 5.1 innings.
In a rehab assignment with Triple-A Colorado Springs, he had a 7.20 ERA, giving up four runs in five innings, including two homers. He had no decisions.
