KEEPING IT COOL

Call it the Mama Bear. Just in time for summer, the Boulder-based creator of the Polar Bottle has introduced a 20-ounce version of its standard 24-ounce insulated water container.

The new bottle features the same double-walled construction and reflective foil layer and also comes with a removable carrying strap. Priced at $8.95, a dollar less than the larger size, it’s available in green, purple and yellow as well as red, white and blue. For details, check out polarbottle.com or call 800-440-0358.

GIVING 100 PERCENT

As a fund-raiser for physical education and athletic programs in Denver-area schools, the Niketown store on the 16th Street Mall is sponsoring a timed 5-kilometer run and kid-friendly 1-mile fun run through downtown on Sunday.

Registration is $15 plus $5 for the T-shirt, in person through Saturday at the store. In keeping with the “Give 100 percent” theme, 100 percent of all entry fees will be donated to schools designated by the participants.
