GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-
A Johnstown man was identified as the person killed when his pickup truck rolled near Collbran on Sunday.
The Colorado State Patrol said 45-year-old Richard Schlagel lost control of his GMC Sierra on a sharp left curve on state Highway 330 Sunday afternoon.
Authorities said Schlagel went off the right side of the road, overcorrected and rolled the truck onto its top in an irrigation ditch.
Schlagel was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.
Investigators said excessive speed, drugs or alcohol were being considered possible factors in the crash.
A dog that was riding in the pickup survived.
He was placed in the care of Mesa County Animal Control.
