COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-
The weekend deaths of two people in Colorado Springs were the result of a murder-suicide, police said.
The El Paso County coroner’s office said Elizabeth M. Ellsworth, 29, died after being shot twice in the head in a unit of the Ambassador House Apartments early Saturday. Police say the gunman, Erik A. Sario, 25, then turned the gun on himself.
He died later at Memorial Hospital.
A possible motive had not been established. The shooting occurred some five months after an incident in Cripple Creek that led a judge to hand down 24-month deferred sentences to both, and fine them $184 apiece.
Details on that incident were not immediately available.
Autopsies were conducted, but coroner’s officials would not disclose what type of gun was used
