A Commerce City man died and another was burned seriously when a fire broke out as the two were refueling a gasoline generator early this morning.
The dead man’s identity has not been released. The burned victim was identified as Reynaldo Diaz-Santiago, 46.
Commerce City police said a flash fire occurred in the basement of a home in the 5800 block of Newport Street shortly after 2 a.m., today. Firefighters said the fire caused minimal damage to the home.
The investigation also concluded that a candle was not being used during the refueling.
