Craig – Two Moffat County High School students were suspended and a police investigation was opened after the teens allegedly threatened violence last week, authorities said.
Three witnesses told police they saw a “hit list” compiled by the students that had the names of one student and one teacher on it, the Craig Daily Press reported Wednesday.
Authorities said the list has not been recovered. The nature of the alleged threats was not immediately available.
Police Chief Walt Vanatta said investigators have turned up no evidence the teens had weapons or any access to weapons.
“That doesn’t mean they couldn’t get something,” Vanatta said.
“There were no overt acts to carry out a plan.” Vanatta said results of the police investigation could be turned over to prosecutors by the end of the week. Prosecutors will then decide whether to file charges.
