Denver’s East High gets a lot of publicity for its athletic teams, which most years are among the state’s best.
And occasionally, like other high schools in urban centers, it has to deal with gang violence.
But this week the school won a national competition arguing constitutional law. The Angels sent 28 students back to Washington, D-C, for the event.
The school also produced three members of Earth, Wind and Fire, folk singer Judy Collins, noted actor Don Cheadle and has a state-of-the art theater program.
