LA JARA, Colo.-

Officials in La Jara have postponed the high school’s prom because of security concerns.

They also canceled classes yesterday in the town of 900 about ten miles south of Alamosa.

School Board President LeRoy Salazar said some parents and staff became concerned after someone raised a Confederate flag on the school’s flagpole. No violence has been reported.

Classes will resume Monday.
