A storm system brought hail, snow, rain, lightning strikes and at least one tornado to Colorado on Saturday, making conditions difficult for travelers.

A United Airlines flight to Chicago was delayed about three hours after lightning struck the jet as it left its gate around 9:30 a.m., airline spokesman Jeff Kovik said. None of the 200 or so passengers was hurt, and another plane was found to carry the passengers, he said.

On the Eastern Plains, Logan County sheriff’s officials reported a tornado three miles east of Sterling just before noon. No injuries were immediately reported.

A foot of snow had fallen about 3 miles west of Jamestown by Saturday night, the National Weather Service said. About 3.5 inches was reported near Bailey, in the foothills west of Denver.

Westbound Interstate 70 was temporarily closed at the Eisenhower Tunnel on Saturday night due to icy, snowpacked conditions and a tractor trailer that spun out.
