Xzibit apparently reads the gossip columns. The rapper and “Pimp My Ride” host got riled after reading a janetcharltons hollywood.com report about him stiffing servers at Arnie Morton’s Steak House in Burbank, Calif. Xzibit, wearing a diamond watch worth a reported $500,000, left a $100 tip on a $1,700 tab. So, Xzibit marched into the Beverly Hills Arnie Morton’s restaurant and angrily declared he never would go back to the Burbank restaurant because someone leaked the cheapskate story. According to Charlton, the rapper claimed he left a small tip because he got “bad service.”
David Letterman lives a quiet private life. So, when Don Rickles coaxed the talk-show host out for dinner at Manhattan’s 21, the comedian was surprised. “We went there, and the maître d’ said, ‘Mr. Letterman will meet you down in the cellar.’ The cellar!” Rickles says in the new issue of Playboy magazine. “Suddenly, it’s dinner with Howard Hughes. It was a secret room in the wine cellar from the speakeasy days. The second time, I had dinner with him and one of his writers in a different cellar – I swear to God – this time down four flights of steps. Maybe he’s related to Bela Lugosi.”
Danny DeVito turned lemons into his own line of limoncello. The actor made a drunken appearance on “The View” in November after a night of doing limoncello shots with George Clooney. Sales of the Italian liqueur went through the roof after DeVito’s gaffe (“I knew it was the last seven limoncellos that was going to get me,” he joked later). He partnered with beverage distributor Harbrew Imports Ltd. to develop Danny DeVito’s Premium Limoncello. The concoction hits stores this summer and will sell for less than $25 a bottle.
