Denver – The Avalanche has signed second-round draft pick Codey Burki to a three-year entry-level contract.

Burki, 19, was Colorado’s third selection and 59th overall in the 2006 draft. He had 36 goals and 49 assists last season for Brandon, Manitoba, of the WHL.

“Codey is coming off a great junior season,” Avalanche general manager Francois Giguere said today. “He is part of the Avalanche future, along with several other prospects we have drafted over the last few years.”

Burki is expected to be at the Avalanche development camp in Denver beginning July 7 and the Avalanche training camp in September.
