A full-scale, tennis-court-sized model of the James Webb Space Telescope will be on display Thursday through Saturday on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., for Public Service Recognition Week.
The telescope is the successor to the Hubble Space Telescope and is a key project for Boulder-based Ball Aerospace, the principal subcontractor to Northrop Grumman on the project.
At the display, members of the public will be able to talk to scientists about the space telescope and build Webb Telescope models using Lego blocks.
