AURORA, Colo.-

A car security system helped officers arrest a man suspected of taking a car in Parker, police said Sunday.

An employee of OnStar called police around 1:30 p.m. to report that a stolen 2007 Cadillac had been tracked in city limits, police said. Officers tried to stop the driver, but he rammed a patrol car and fled.

The chase was called off, but OnStar kept tracking the car, whose driver struck a vehicle on Interstate 225 and another on an exit ramp, police said. This time officers were able to arrest the driver.

Police identified the suspect as Kevin Todd Tanner, 44. He was being held without bond on suspicion of an unrelated parole violation. More charges were pending.

No serious injuries were reported.
