To celebrate the opening of The Curtis, which is being touted as Denver’s only “pop- culture-oriented hotel,” Sage Hospitality Resources is making a donation to the Denver Center’s Arts in Education Program. Sage is also hosting an invitation-only party on Tuesday evening, with refreshments to include martinis and spiked snow cones … The Landmark, meanwhile, had a big do last week to mark the opening of its European Village of Homes in Greenwood Village and donated $20 for each person in attendance to the Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect.

David S. Hill, who is retiring after 28 years as a professor at the University of Colorado Law School, was honored by the Sam Cary Bar Association at its annual Homecoming party. For 24 of those years, Hill was the only African-American professor in the law school, according to Musu Brooks, who will succeed Victor Devereaux as president of the Sam Cary Bar … The board of directors of the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival have selected Dr. Susanna Choi, a Greenwood Village obstetrician-gynecologist, to be honorary chair of the event to be held July 28 and 29 at Sloan’s Lake Park. Jimmy and Linda Yip are the honorary patrons and will be introduced at a reception for business and community participants that will be held May 30 at the Cable Center on the University of Denver campus … The Asian Pacific Development Center’s ReLAY Program (Responsible Leadership and Action for Youth) graduated 15 students on May 18: Amairani Quezada, Almaz Amelash, Darautu Shafi, Duy Pham, Hassan Mohabes, Hana Tachbele, Jennifer Cespedes, Jonathan Volmer, Kiza Yassufu, Luyen Dao, Mulubrhan Gebremarian, Prashan Gurung, Rediet Teka, Wel Alak and Woyneshet Kirkos.
