A fishing derby sponsored by the Lakewood-based organization for children with terminal or life-threatening illnesses, Joseph’s Journey, will be June 2 at a private lake in Waterton Canyon. Youths under 21 with serious illnesses should phone 303-989-5710 for a reservation to the 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. event. Food and equipment will be provided.
Croke Reservoir fish salvage
The city of Northglenn has joined with the Colorado Division of Wildlife to implement an emergency fish salvage at Croke Reservoir, located on Huron Street, one block north of 104th Avenue. A city construction project necessitates that the reservoir be drained. No-limit fishing will be allowed and netting and snagging will be permitted along with standard angling methods. A Colorado fishing license is required, except for youth and senior anglers.
