FORT COLLINS, Colo.-
The Colorado State Rams are getting two transfers, forward Andy Ogide from the University of Mississippi and guard Willis Gardner from Ohlone Junior College.
Gardner will enroll for the fall semester. Under NCAA rules, Ogide will sit out a season.
Gardner (6-foot-1, 175 pounds) averaged 11 points and 4.2 assists for Ohlone Junior College in Fremont, Calif., last season. He shot 51 percent from the field and the 3-point line in leading Ohlone to a 28-4 record.
“He comes from a great junior college program and we look forward to the leadership and the winning mentality he brings to our program,” Rams coach Tim Miles said.
Ogide (pronounced Oh-GAH’-die) is a 6-foot-8, 245 pound forward whom Miles said “represents everything we are looking for in a student-athlete at Colorado State. As a player, he has good size, good skills and is very athletic. He is also an excellent student and demonstrates great character.”
Ogide averaged 2.4 points and 1.2 boards as a freshman at Mississippi last year after averaging 25.3, 10.3 rebounds and three blocks in his senior high school season in Dallas, Ga.
