BRIDGEPORT, Neb.-
A 40 million to 50 million-gallon ethanol plant is being planned for 40 acres on the edge of Bridgeport in the Panhandle’s Morrill County.
Sterling Ethanol and Colorado Agricultural Services announced the plans yesterday.
General Manager Dave Kramer of Sterling Ethanol says the plant should be ready by summer 2008, with construction starting this summer.
The plant will have 32 employees and use 17 million to 18 million bushels of corn a year.
Kramer says the company has a similar plant in Sterling, Colorado, and one expected to start operations soon in Yuma, Colorado.
