DENVER-
About 120 women are in Denver this weekend to learn what it takes to run for political office.
The training session is being run by the White House Project, a nonpartisan group which promotes leadership by women at all levels, including the nation’s top job.
They’re set to learn about fund-raising, talking to the media and building support for their candidacy. They will hear from current women officeholders including state treasurer Cary Kennedy and Lola Spradley, the first woman to serve as Colorado’s speaker of the House.
The group, headed by a co-founder of Take Our Daughters and Son to Work Day, also held training sessions in Minnesota and Georgia.
