Phoenix – As expected, the Rockies activated second baseman Kaz Matsui before today’s game, farming out infielder Omar Quintanilla.
Matsui returns after a five-week absence due to a back injury. He was hitting .361 when he got hurt.
Matsui will hit second in today’s lineup, with Troy Tulowitzki batting seventh.
“I feel good – I’m ready to go, ” said Matsui.
