Gross opening
Gross Reservoir is open to boating through Sept. 20, allowing canoes, kayaks, rowboats and other hand-launched craft. Trailer-hauled boats and motorized craft are not allowed on the South Boulder Creek west of Boulder. The same stricture applies to single-compartment inflatable kickboats.
Non-motorized upheld
A U.S. District Court decision has upheld a U.S. Forest Service ruling against motorized access on Trail 1135, dismissing a 2001 lawsuit by the Colorado Off-Highway Vehicle Coalition. The suit involves the development of a single-track trail on Radial Mountain in the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests.
