Grand Junction, Colo. – Grand Junction authorities suspended the official search Monday for a diabetic man who’s dependent on insulin, and who his father says may be running out of time.

John Thomas Atchley, 20, was last seen early Saturday as he was leaving a party. Witnesses said he was walking in a “dazed state.” Authorities said Atchley wears an insulin pump that holds a 48-hour supply of insulin, and that he could go into diabetic shock if the pump runs dry.

Randy Atchley said his son’s insulin supply had probably been exhausted, and asked Monday for the public’s help to find his son.

“I think we’re getting down to the bitter end,” he told The Daily Sentinel.

John Atchley was described only as 5 feet 7 inches tall with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing jeans, a white T-shirt and white shoes.

Anyone with information about John Atchley’s possible whereabouts was asked to call authorities, or make an anonymous report by calling Crime Stoppers at (970) 241-7867.
