Gil Cisneros, founder of the Chamber of the Americas, and Morgan Smith, former director of the Colorado International Trade Office, will be honored at the 2007 Diplomats Ball: A South American Adventure. The June 8 festivities at Lakewood’s Belmar Center include a silent auction, South American cuisine and music by the salsa band Quemando. The benefit golf tournament season is now underway, and two big ones have 1 p.m. shotgun starts on June 11: the 14th annual Fore Families First tourney, dedicated to the memory of Sugar Chalus, is at Meridian Golf Club while the 11th Brad Butler Memorial Golf Tournament, benefiting Colorado Bright Beginnings, will be played at Valley Country Club.
