SEAKR Engineering Inc., a privately held company based in Centennial, has teamed with Cisco and Concerto Advisors to bring Internet Protocol Layer 3 routing to commercial communication satellites. The initial effort is partially funded by the Department of Defense to test performance of space-based Internet routing.

Qwest announced a $2 million, three-year agreement with West Palm Beach, Fla.-based Vision Care Holdings LLC, the parent company of The Lasik Vision Institute and Eyeglass World. Qwest will deliver multi-protocol label switching data networking communications to more than 90 nationwide locations.
