Two men who reportedly went to a Lakewood hotel to have sex with a girl they believed was 17 have been arrested, Lakewood police said today.
Emilano Delgado Rodriguez, 35, and Noberto Butanda, 27, were charged on suspicion of soliciting for child prostitution and criminal attempt.
Butanda also was arrested for child abuse when police said they discovered that he left his 2-year-old daughter in his vehicle while he went into the hotel to meet the teenager.
Police spokesman Steve Davis said an undercover female officer posted an ad Tuesday on the Internet website Craigslist saying she was a prostitute who was “almost legal.”
The two men responded separately, with the officer telling them she was 17 and directing them to the hotel where Lakewood and Jefferson County authorities arrested them, Davis said.
