Justin L. Vasquez tackled nearly everything at full speed, from his military duties to his relationships. He rarely wasted time.
“We were married for about two and a half years, if you count from the first wedding, because we had two of them.
“The first wedding was Jan. 4, 2003. He proposed to me on New Year’s Eve, and we got married on Jan. 4. It was a quick deal, and we got everything put together really fast.
“We climbed West Point Crack in Garden of the Gods. It was a 127-foot climb to the top, a technical-crack climb. We climbed with just a few buddies. We had one of our friends get ordained over the Internet at the last minute.
“We climbed in our rock-climbing clothes. He had a ripped tuxedo shirt on. I had my climbing pants and a white veil. And we climbed to the top, and said our vows on the top, and exchanged rings, and rappelled down together.”
