A book publisher with scruples? A book featuring celebrity photographer Roger Moenks’ pics in “Inheriting Beauty” were to include shots of Paris Hilton. But Moenks and his editors “bounced Paris by unanimous vote,” his agent, Marianne Strong, told the New York Post. “She’s tried to play society like a game of three-card monte.” Other swells scheduled to appear in the book: Roberta Armani, Dylan Lauren, Allegra Hicks, Nadja Swarovski and Casey Johnson.
Jessica Simpson claims on her website that she discovered her true self on a recent trip to Europe. Simpson claims, “I visited many museums, and have been reading about different artists. I was reading a book about Michelangelo and there were two quotes that caught my attention – ‘I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free,’ and ‘Each time we face our fear, we gain strength, courage, and confidence in the doing.”‘ Simpson contends she ignores “my fears too often” and she cowers ” from my true identity.” OK, first, she read a book? And second, which of Simpson’s assistants is writing her blog?
John Travolta said his wife Kelly Preston told him that “at the end of the summer we’re going to try” to have a third child. Travolta, 53, made the revelation to People magazine at a Narconon Rehab Center Fundraiser in Honolulu. Travolta and Preston, married for 16 years in September, have two kids – Ella Bleu, 7, and son Jett, 14. “I enjoy their energy and it keeps everything wonderful and hopeful,” Travolta said.
Apparently, Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova are neither married nor divorced. Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet recently reported the Latin singer and former tennis player married secretly and just as quickly divorced, quoting Iglesias. A friend of Kournikova told People magazine Iglesias was only joking, and his rep added the couple is “still together” after dating for five years.
Is Brittany Murphy’s four-month marriage to producer-writer Simon Monjack on the skids? Friends and family of the actress are worried by reports Monjack has legal and financial woes. Two warrants were issued for his arrest in Virginia for alleged credit-card theft and fraud; an unpaid $6,087 legal bill, and a $502,910 judgment against him by a British investment firm. Us Weekly reports Monjack gave his former fiancée, British film producer Taira Rafiq, a diamond engagement ring that turned out to be cubic zirconia. “Taira tried to get in touch with Brittany to warn her,” a friend of Rafiq said. Murphy, 29, bailed Monjack out after he was jailed earlier this year for overstaying his tourist visa.
Bobby Brown spent 30 minutes before a performance at Stereo by the Shore in the Hamptons on Saturday making out with girlfriend Alicia Etheridge, the New York Post reported. Etheridge is a former friend of Whitney Houston – Brown’s ex-wife. Brown finally took the stage, singing his hit “My Prerogative” but stopped during the second verse, telling the crowd, “Sorry, I forgot the words.”

Wedding bells: Lisa Ling married Chicago-based doctor Paul Song Saturday at Los Angeles’ Union Station, her rep told People magazine. The 33-year-old correspondent for “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and National Geographic Channel and Song, 41, live in Chicago but are planning to move to L.A. Among the guests: Connie Chung and actresses Kelly Hu and Diane Farr … Sherri Saum (“Rescue Me”) and Kamar De Los Reyes (“One Life to Live”) were wed over the Memorial Day weekend with a Spanish theme, the New York Daily News reported. De Los Reyes has a Puerto Rican and Cuban heritage, “and they even had a cigar roller on hand,” a guest said … Jaime King (“Sin City”) and filmmaker Kyle Newman are engaged, her rep told People magazine. Newman directed King on the film “Fanboys” a year ago.
