Travis Henry, a prized offseason free-agent pickup by the Broncos, continues to get most of the practice snaps at running back.
“Every day, I’m getting more and more comfortable with the offense, with the line and blocking scheme,” Henry said today, the second day of a seven-day team camp. “Just getting better every day.”
Henry, a compact 5-foot-9, 215-pound back, rushed for 1,211 yards last season for the Tennessee Titans, becoming the first franchise player to amass 1,200 yards since Eddie George in 2000. His head-on, take-it-downfield style should suit the Broncos’ offense.
“One cut, downhill, that’s been my forte my whole career,” Henry said. “I think I fit in real good.”
Henry said Denver’s offense could be terrific in the coming season.
“We have guys on the offense – at wideout Javon Walker, Brandon Marshall. We got Jay (Cutler) at quarterback, and (tight end) Danny Graham. We got all the weapons. The sky is the limit.”
