The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch effective until 7 p.m. for parts of the Eastern Plains. A watch from earlier today that included parts of the metro area, including Adams and Arapahoe counties, was dropped.
The watch area now covers Baca, Bent, Cheyenne, Kiowa, Kit Carson, Prowers and Yuma counties.
The forecast is for isolated thunderstorms developing across the mountains and plains this afternoon. Stormy weather will build into the evening and could continue overnight.
