Architects’ project featured
A Denver pool house designed by architects Robert Lanham and Richard Wetsel and interior designer Carol Mathers of Diamond Homes is featured in the latest issue of Western Interiors & Design. The designers were charged with replacing an existing wood structure with something similar to the architecture of the historic main house, designed in the 1920s by Denver architect Jules Jacques Benois Benedict. They had to replicate Benedict’s brickwork techniques and chimney motifs, windows and other architectural elements.
“Green” praise for Denver Place
Downtown’s Denver Place received accolades in The BOMA Magazine’s Green Guide. Touted as one of the earliest office buildings to make sustainability a priority, Denver Place’s property manager Amerimar Realty Management Co. took the “green plunge” when utility costs exceeded $1 million in 1996. Amerimar spent about $1.3 million on retrofits, with $550,000 funded through the Demand Side Management Program of the Public Service Company of Colorado. Savings have steadily increased over the years to about $450,000 annually.
