A semi-truck carrying trash has tipped over on eastbound Hampden Avenue at Santa Fe Drive, blocking commuters coming to work on U.S. 285.
The truck tipped over just east of Santa Fe, under the railroad tracks.
All eastbound traffic is being diverted, very slowly, onto Santa Fe. Traffic has backed up nearly half a mile and is expected to grow worse as rush hour hits its peak.
Drivers are advised to exit at Wadsworth, Sheridan or Federal and make their way to Sixth Avenue.
Cause of the accident has not been determined. The driver sustained minor injuries.
