GREAT SAND DUNES NATIONAL PARK, Colo.—A wildfire started by power lines downed by wind burned itself out Wednesday after reaching a marshy area near this national park.
Campers were evacuated when the fire broke out but were allowed to return, said Kristie Deloach of the Alamosa County Sheriff’s office.
“We thought it was going to wreak havoc, but it didn’t,” Deloach said.
She said the fire covered about 160 areas.
