Proper coverage

As a longtime subscriber and hockey fan, I want to congratulate The Denver Post for being one of the few U.S. papers covering the Stanley Cup. Although the NHL can’t seem to promote itself correctly, The Post still recognizes the importance of “The Cup” and the best team sport going.

Young fan’s view

I am an 8-year-old sports fan who was disappointed to see the front page of The Post’s sports section on Thursday. Instead of seeing the Stanley Cup, the greatest trophy in sports, I see a picture of LeBron James, a 22-year-old who had yet to play a single game in a championship series. On this one, the Rocky Mountain News got it right.

Good for preps

You had great coverage of the various high school state championship events, particularly track and field.

I believe coverage of local and state high school sports is not only interesting for readers but a great way to support the community. I have lived in seven states, and haven’t seen a local paper anywhere else do a better job of this than The Denver Post.
