U.S. Ski Team moguls coach Scott Rawles was enthusiastic after the team completed its first water-to-snow training in Steamboat Springs and Arapahoe Basin during the past two weeks.

Fifteen athletes took part in water-ramp training in Steamboat and then took to the ramp at A-Basin for more jumps.

Rawles termed the camp “a great success” thanks to a “ton of jumps” skiers were able to perform at both locations.

The freestyle aerial team, including 2006 Olympian Ryan St. Onge of Steamboat Springs, was in Lake Placid, N.Y., for its spring camp. St. Onge was recovering from bruised heels he suffered during the world championships in March. “My heels feel great now, and I’m still trying to work to get them stronger and to get my body stronger, but they feel great, and I’m excited to get jumping again,” he said.
