Nuggets guard J.R. Smith may face several traffic violations when the investigation into his Saturday crash in New Jersey is completed, authorities said Sunday.

Smith, 21, was driving a 2003 GMC sports utility vehicle southbound on Stillhouse Road in Millstone Township, N.J., when he drove around a vehicle that was stopped at a stop sign in front of him, according to a report issued by the New Jersey State Police.

As Smith continued into the intersection, his SUV was struck by a Jaguar driven by 49-year-old Lynn Sinatra, also of Millstone Township, authorities said.

Sinatra was traveling westbound on Stagecoach Road at the time and the state police say she had the right of way.

Smith’s SUV overturned on impact and he and Andre Bell, 21, who was riding in the back, were thrown out of the vehicle.

Bell, of East Orange, N.J., was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Smith was treated and released from the hospital this morning.

Another passenger, 23-year-old Carroll Marshall of Chicago, Ill. was taken by ambulance to CentraState Medical Center with minor injuries.

Sinatra, who only suffered minor injuries in the crash, was also taken by ambulance to CentraState Medical Center.
