What’s new? Make that “who’s new?” and the answer is: Steve Turner, Carole Cruson and Artemis Khadiwala-Donian.

They’ve all just become presidents – Turner of Historic Denver; Cruson of Denver Lyric Opera Guild; and Khadiwala-Donian of Hearts for Life.

Turner’s appointment was effective June 1. He succeeds Kathleen Brookere. Turner has been HD’s director of preservation services for the past year, arriving by way of Denver’s Community Planning and Development Office and the Office of Economic Development. Cruson was voted into office at DLOG’s annual meeting June 5 and succeeds Anne Hamilton. Khadiwala- Donian follows Bobbi Moore as the Hearts for Life leader; she was installed at the group’s annual meeting at the Wellshire Inn.

Sounds delicious

Foie gras a la torchon, salmon with sorrel sauce and beef tenderloin Perigourdine are on the menu for Friday night’s L’Esprit de France Gala at the Westin Tabor Center. It’s a benefit for the French-American Chamber of Commerce and is being chaired by Bob Snyder and Trip Mackintosh. Lt. Gov. Barbara O’Brien is the guest of honor; master chef Jean-Luc Voegele presides in the kitchen. Tickets start at $175. Call 303-695-7818.

Once the French food has settled, it’s time to think about Saturday’s Summer Clambake to benefit the Children’s Museum of Denver. Anne and Collis Chandler will serve up an authentic New England menu of steam-baked clams and lobster with all the trimmings, starting at 5 p.m. Tickets are $100 and $200; call 303-433-7444.
