Turkey Beer Bratwurst: The best of both worlds, all wrapped up in one bun. Leinenkugel Brewing Co. and Jennie-O Turkey Store offering a bratwurst infused with the brewer’s Sunset Wheat beer. Not surprisingly, it’s being marketed mainly in the Upper Midwest, where beer and brats are practically a way of life. The Turkey Beer Bratwurst, say the two companies, has half the fat of cooked pork brats and only 120 calories. Just like beer, the brats come in a six-pack. | Area grocery stores | Dick Kreck
“Gentlemen, Start Your Ovens”: When we need a good recipe, all we have to do is swivel around the cubicle and ask our own Tucker Shaw, dining critic and cookbook author. His latest book is a must-have for anyone who wants to know his (or her) way around the kitchen, and it’s a perfect gift for Father’s Day. (Sure, he’s one of our own, but it’s that good.) | “Gentlemen, Start Your Ovens” is available at bookstores and on amazon.com. | Kristen Browning-Blas
