An outpouring of fan support saved “Jericho,” the post-apocalyptic drama about a small Kansas town, and now CBS has set July 6 as the return date for the series.The pilot will be repeated, followed by episodes from the first season, on Fridays through the summer, CBS said Tuesday.
The seven-episode order, to air at midseason, was CBS’ response to the unusual ‘nuts’ campaign to save the show. After tons of peanuts were shipped to CBS, the network relented–for as long as ratings hold up.
Why nuts? In the last episode broadcast, when asked if he’ll surrender the beseiged fictional town, Skeet Ulrich’s character gave a one-word answer: “Nuts.”
