Metro State women’s basketball coach Dave Murphy announced he will retire after five seasons at the school, effective June 30, athletic director Joan McDermott said Tuesday.
In his Metro State tenure, Murphy compiled a 91-54 record and led the Roadrunners to the NCAA Division II Tournament twice (in 2005 and 2007). He led teams to at least 12 victories in five consecutive seasons and earned at least 18 wins in three seasons.
“Metro State is a very special place of which I have been privileged to be a part of,” he said.
McDermott said the school is looking for a new coach nationally.
