Los Angeles – Paris Hilton is back in women’s jail after spending five days in a downtown jail’s medical ward, officials said Thursday.

Hilton, who was being treated for an undisclosed medical condition, was moved back to the Century Regional Detention Center on Wednesday, said Steve Whitmore, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

He described the hotel heiress as being in “stable condition,” but he declined to comment further.

The Sheriff’s Department has been flooded with e-mails and calls about Hilton’s incarceration, Whitmore told reporters at a morning news conference.

Hilton was sentenced last month to 45 days in jail after repeatedly violating the terms of her probation on alcohol-related reckless driving charges. Her sentence was later reduced to 23 days.

But Hilton was released by the sheriff June 7 after serving only three full days because of an unspecified medical condition. She was then ordered back to court a day later and ordered by the judge to complete her sentence.

Whitmore said Thursday that she is expected to be released June 25. “It all depends on her medical condition and how that goes.”
