Where: Playa del Carmen. We were walking into town, and these Mayan ruins were along the walking path.
Best meal: Alux, a restaurant in a cave in Playa del Carmen. Excellent food; dessert was prepared tableside.
Best deal: The $2 all-day lockers at Xcaret. Good to keep a change of clothes in and anything else you need throughout the day.
Best time to go: We went in mid-March; the weather was in the 80s.
Best travel tip: There are so many interesting and fun tours you can do. I would recommend doing them, but take time to relax.
