Getting your player ready...

Make your next vacation a volunteer one by recording new births of the pink river dolphin in Brazil, working with farmers in Namibia to reduce conflict with elephants or building energy-efficient stoves for families in Guatemala on a trip with Global Vision International. Trips last from one week to three months and cost between $1,160 and $5,500 per person. Each trip includes extensive training, airport pickups, food and accommodations, in-country transport, language instruction if needed and the materials necessary for the project. In Brazil, the project is with the Mamiraua Institute for Sustainable Development in the Amazon rain forest, where participants work on developing understanding of the dolphin through genetic and field research. In Namibia, Damaraland is home to desert-adapted elephants, and participants will help build protective walls around water points and monitor animal movements while camping nearby on the Ugab River, at the foot of Brandberg Mountain. The Guatemala project involves helping to improve the quality of living in a rural area, teaching natives sustainable agriculture and livestock rearing. Visit or call 888-653-6028.
