The Avalanche signed two more players today, a pair who can be classified as depth forwards.

The Avs inked 28-year-old center Ben Guite to a two-year contract and right wing Cody McCormick to a one-year deal.

The first year of Guite’s deal is a one-way, guaranteed salary of $475,000. The second year is a two-way deal, meaning he will make far less than $475,000 if he plays in the minor leagues.

Guite, called up midway through the season from the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League, played well for the Avs down the stretch. He played 36 of the Avs’ final 37 games and finished with three goals and 11 points in 39 games overall. He won 49.5 percent of his faceoffs, third best on the team.

“Ben provided some quality minutes in our stretch run,” said Avalanche general manager Francois Giguere. “We look for him to continue his role on our team.”

McCormick, 24, will have a two-way contract that will pay $475,000 at the NHL level. He spent most of last season with Albany.
