Youngster lands large tiger muskie
Ever wonder what happened to all the tiger muskies at Quincy Reservoir? Well, at least one ended up on the hook of Neven Weissman, a 10-year-old who lives near the Aurora lake.
The youngster was fishing for bass with his father, Tom, last Sunday when a 38-inch fish suddenly appeared behind their canoe, tracking Neven’s battered Rapala lure.
The tiger – a cross between a muskellunge and northern pike – eventually swam away and when young Weissman made a cast in its direction, he was rewarded by a strike.
“After all the years that I have been fishing at Quincy, I have never seen anybody catching a fish this size,” Tom Weissman said.
