LoDo Flower Market on tap
Just because you don’t have a yard doesn’t mean you can’t grow plants and vegetables. Friends of Union Station is out to prove it.
The group will host the LoDo Flower Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 24 in front of Union Station on Wazee and Wynkoop streets.
The market will feature container plants, cut flowers, handcrafted pottery, patio and balcony decorations, nature photography, herbal products and books.
Stapleton hosts video contest
To mark its fifth anniversary, the Stapleton neighborhood is launching a video contest that will engage residents as ambassadors for the development.
Built around the theme of “Why I Love to Live at Stapleton,” the campaign asks residents to submit short videos about why they love the community. The videos will be posted on YouTube and showcased at Stapleton movie nights throughout the summer.
The contest winner will get two motorized scooters. For every video submitted, Forest City Stapleton will donate $5 to local charities. Stapleton also is hosting seminars on how to shoot and upload videos to YouTube. Details at

Men want their own rooms
With 87 percent of the final decisions about home purchases made by women, men may not be Kings of the Castle.
But that doesn’t mean men aren’t claiming their own space – and don’t have specific ideas about how to decorate it, according to a survey by Homes & Land. The group found that 28 percent of men want a room of their own. The most popular room requests were for an office/study, a media room, a garage/workshop or an exercise room.
