Police are searching for a man and a 7-year-old girl who are missing after a homicide in northeast Denver.

The coroner’s office identified the victim as Araseli Martinez-Fabela, 32, who was found dead in a home in the 5500 block of Hannibal Street, near Chambers Road.

Officers found her around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, after a neighbor had asked them to check on her.

The official cause of death has not yet been determined, but police said the woman appeared to have been killed by blunt-force injuries Friday evening or early Saturday.

Police are searching for a man who lives at the home, 34-year-old Hilario Martinez-Fabela. He also uses the name Hilario Fabela-Martinez. He faces first-degree murder charges.

The girl was identified as Breanna Martinez.

They were last seen Saturday, according to Detective Virginia Quiñones.

An Amber Alert has not been issued, because Denver Police have not requested it, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation spokesman Lance Clem.

Denver Police have said they do not believe the girl’s disappearance meets the prerequisites for the declaration of an Amber Alert, which include imminent danger to the child.

Police believe Martinez-Fabela has fled to Mexico and that the girl is probably with him.
