DENVER—Police believed that a man being sought Monday in the slaying of a Denver woman might have fled to Mexico.

Police spokeswoman Virginia Quinones said an arrest warrant on the charge of first-degree murder was issued for Hilario Martinez-Fabela, 34.

Police were also looking for Breanna Martinez-Chavez, 7, who was missing.

Officers found the body of Araseli Martinez-Fabela, 32, Sunday night after being asked to check at the home. Police said the woman apparently suffered blunt force injuries.

The Denver coroner’s office said the cause of death is under investigation.

Police said they believe the woman died Friday night or early Saturday.
