DURANGO, Colo.—A 27-year-old Durango man remained in jail Monday after police said they found bomb-making ingredients at his home, including an apparent grenade and hundreds of firecrackers.

Police learned about the stash at Larry Haddow’s home Saturday as part of an assault investigation and confiscated the items.

Haddow was being held at the La Plata County Jail on a $10,000 bond for investigation of second-degree assault, menacing, prohibited use of firearm and reckless endangerment. Police said they turned evidence of the explosives over to prosecutors who will consider additional charges against Haddow.

Haddow, armed with a shotgun, is accused of chasing Grant P. Ponder, 34, of Durango through residential streets after the two fought while playing pool at Haddow’s home, police said.

Police arrested Haddow a short time later, and Ponder was treated for injuries and released.

Among the items found in the home were firecrackers, some of which were dismantled, a device that appeared to be a fragmentation grenade and improvised explosive darts, police said.
