The rapper Fabolous was not so fabulous as a recent engagement party for New Jersey Nets player Richard Jefferson and Kesha Nichols. The New York Daily News reported the hip-hop artist was 90 minutes late and refused to perform until he got his fee in cash. Fabolous also demanded only Bud Select be served at his VIP table.
Jay-Z apparently has an eye for talent. A reader reminded the New York Post about the rapper’s visit to New York hotspot the Spotted Pig a year ago. “In walks Jay-Z with this skinny, exotic girl and he walked her through the first and second floors of the restaurant, stopping at every single table and barstool to introduce her to every single patron and said, ‘My name is Jay-Z. This is Amy Winehouse. I just signed her to my record label, and I guarantee you she is going to be a huge star.”‘ The British singer is indeed now one of music’s hottest stars.
The folks at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals claim they plan to ask Paris Hilton to become a spokesperson for chickens’ rights. “We’re asking Paris to narrate our Kentucky Fried Cruelty video showing how chickens are routinely crammed into tiny cages and suffer broken wings and legs,” PETA’s Dan Mathews told Mathews claims PETA tried a similar tack with Martha Stewart during her jailhouse stay. “We wrote her and got a very friendly reply saying that she’d stopped wearing fur, and when she got sprung she narrated PETA’s anti-fur video.” PETA’s proposed Hilton chicken slogan: “KFC – that’s not hot.”
The New York Post’s Cindy Adams asked “CSI: NY” actress Melina Kanakaredes how she stayed so thin. “Skinny? Listen, my husband’s a chef. He cooks only for me now, and our two kids because I won’t let him open another restaurant again – but I’m not skinny. I’m Greek. I eat.”
