The lollipops and balloons, cotton candy and cupcakes lent a carnival atmosphere to Riverfront Park on Thursday evening. But with Skye presenting a sexy show of summer clothes, Sterling Vintner’s Collection sampling the sauvignon blanc and Lure providing the appetizers, it was a decidedly adult evening. This is the third year for the Riverfront Park Wine + Fashion series and the monthly parades have become a must-attend for Denver style mavens.
Skye Forrest, owner of Skye in LoDo, put sizzling looks on the runway, including skintight jeans and frilly underwear by Anna Sui for the female models; and colorful boxers and jackets by Duckie Brown for the guys. Standouts were the dresses – from babydoll numbers by Sui and D&G to the strapless red Manoush style that closed the show. Models also paraded in vintage dresses and Gnat Original Designs pearl jewelry.
Meanwhile, sipping wine and munching cupcakes, many in the stylish crowd heeded the request to wear white, with women in girly dresses and breezy skirts and guys in white jeans or linen pants.
The next event in the series, on July 19, will showcase fashion from Neiman Marcus and food from Zengo. Tickets start at $40, with a portion of the proceeds donated to Railyard Dogs . More at
